On the front end, I found a way to make substack cheaper. They won’t let me set a price lower than 5 dollars, so this makes it 2.50! If you are currently at 5 and want to stay that helps with cat food, but life is expensive.

Reporting live from Head Rush Studios, with some comics.

We all know I was depressed. But I have been working! It is hard to know how productive I actually was because I wasn’t thinking very clearly, but I am now on the other side staring at a massive pile of things I never properly posted or put the finishing touches on.

My best guess is there are about 200 pages of finished comics, three books that are at around 75% written, and somewhere between 30-40 songs I just need to wrap a few vocal or guitar tracks on to get them out the door. I was trying to come up with some kind of coherent plan to finish things but there is just too much. It turned into me just moving files into different buckets and not making progress.

So we are going to wing it and fix this in the simplest way possible.

Tasks-

  1. Open the folders. Pick 5-10 things off the top.

  2. Take a day or three to finish and post those things here to my private feed. Then put them in a finished pile.

  3. Once any of those piles are a completed book or record, take it to print and then schedule that material to post publicly on social media.

  4. Pick a new pile.

  5. Don’t add new stuff to the pile.

So here are the first eight pages of The Midnight Snack. I have about 40 pages written that were for the back of The Doughboys podcast comic book. The actual book is a great well written book and me not being in it is totally my fault. I dropped da ball! But I like the characters a lot, so we are doing it anyways.

Let me know if the tone pattern reacts poorly to your phone/computer and I can post them without it. (I love the look, but I know there can be issues with them at different sizes.)
